From
January through May 1997, there were 5 foreign credit lines opened
in Turkmenistan all worth US$147.0 million. They include:
- The contract
for the purchase of agricultureal equipment from John Deere
(Association Turkmenbakhizmat) - $99.9 million - by credit
abreement with the EXIM Bank of the US and the Societe General
Bank.
- The contract
for the installation of the factory equipment for the soap
manufacturing in the town of Charjou (Association of the Food
Industry) - $7.2 million - from the agreement with the Bank
of New York.
- The Contract
for the purchase of personal equipment (Department of Internal
Affairs) - $4.0 million by the credit agreement with the KFV
Bank.
- The Contract
for modernizing the dairy -processing lines in the Dairy factory
of Ashgabat Syit (Association of the Food Industry) - $13.4
million - by the credit agreement with the AKA Bank.
- The Constract
for the delivery and assembly of the equipment for the Youzhiy
Gamishlj deposit (GK Turkmenneft, GTK Turkmenneftegas) - $22.6
million - by the credit agreement with the KFV Bank.
