the United States of America
Ambassador
Meret Bayramovich Orazov is a noted scientist and statesman
in Turkmenistan. Born in 1951. He holds a Doctor Degree of
Physico-Mathematical Sciences from the Council of Scientists
at Moscow State University. He served as Assistant Professor
at Magtymguly Turkmen State University. From 1983 to 1992
Ambassador Orazov held a number of leading posts in Government
and Academic organizations, including the Office of Vice-Prime
Minister.
Ambassador
Orazov served as Rector Magtymguly Turkmen State University.
He
held the Office of Minister for Foreign Economic Relations
of Turkmenistan while also serving as Dean of the International
Relations Department at Magtymguly Turkmen State University.
In
1992 Ambassador Orazov received his PhD in Economics at
Saint-Petersburg University of Economy and Finance.
He
was elected an Academician of the Academy of Sciences of
Turkmenistan in 1993.
In
1998 Ambassador Orazov founded a Program between the Texas
A&M University Faculty of Business & Management
and Magtymguly Turkmen State University.
He
has worked with European Union to establish in-service
training for personnel in the sphere of economics and management.
He
has established research collaboration with universities
and scientific centers in 8 countries. Ambassador Orazov
has published more than 120 scientific papers in mathematics
and economics as well as 5 treatises on economics.
He
has received many prizes and awards for his work in science
and technology.
The
Honorable Parakhat Kh. Durdyev
Minister-Counselor
He
was born in 1968 in Turkmenistan.
Parakhat
Durdyev is a graduate of Magtymguly Turkmen State University
(1992). In July 1992 he joined the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of Turkmenistan. In February 2002 he was given
rank E. and P. Envoy and appointed Minister-Counselor at
the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United States of America.
From
1992 till the end of 1999 he served as Attaché,
Third and Second Secretary in various Departments of the
Ministry and attended a short term studies programs at
the Institute of Business Administration (Karachi, Pakistan),
Birmingham University (UK).
In
January 2000 Parakhat Durdyev was appointed First Secretary
of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Peoples Republic
of China and in February of the following year joined the
Delegation of Turkmenistan to the Organization for Security
and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). |
