Background

In May of 1994, Turkmenistan opened official diplomatic relations with the United States. Now, the embassy has a permanent consulate on Embassy Row in Washington, DC.

The Embassy in Washington, DC and the diplomats assigned to the embassy are also responsible for diplomatic relations with Canada and Mexico. All correspondence regarding the US, Canada and Mexico should be sent to the Embassy in Washington, DC.

Services Available at the Embassy of Turkmenistan
All US, Canadian and Mexican citizens must obtain a visa to enter Turkmenistan. We suggest that you write or fax the embassy your request for a visa. Please inform the embassy of your name and address or fax number. You will receive an application that must be fully completed for a visa to be issued.
