Design and Construction of the "East-West" Gas Pipeline

In order to diversify the gas supply routes and to build a reliable and secure system to transport Turkmen gas to the world markets the Turkmen State Concern "Turkmengas" has announced an international tender inviting proposals for design and construction of the "East-West" gas pipeline on the territory of Turkmenistan, including building of a ground infrastructure to ensure the pipeline's effective functioning.

The pipeline will span from 800 to 1000 km.

The project will be financed through the following proposed forms of funding:

- foreign investment;
- equity participation of the Turkmen side and a foreign partner;
- financing by the Turkmen side.

Interested parties should:

- make a formal written request providing the name of the company, its legal status, the country of incorporation, and the banking requisites;
- familiarize themselves with the "Regulations on selection of contractors for design and construction of industrial objects for the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan";
- make a payment in the amount of 1150 US$ to obtain the tender documents. The account for transfer of funds will be specified upon receiving the written request.

The closing date and time for submission of the tender is 13:00 local time on Saturday, 27 June 2009.
